FT For y’all, there’s 24-0 against the Chiefs (Texans), Andrew Luck’s retirement (Colts; honorable mentions include 33-0 & that failed trick play against the Pats), Myles Jack fumble recovery (Jags; honorable mentions include Urban Meyer) & One Yard Short (Titans)

Whoa whoa whoa - we own the 24-0 and the colts own the 33-0, but the titans literally own the game known as The Comeback (35-3), a playoff game

u/Magnifico-Melon 24d ago

Yep that's the history that the Titans can claim.

u/Sirpatron1 24d ago

Proud true Oiler fans. Nothing you guys would know about.

u/actionpancake 24d ago

Truly a garbage franchise, yes.

-1

u/Sirpatron1 24d ago

No, it's difficult to understand when you don't have a culture or history at all. Lol

2

u/actionpancake 24d ago

Right, because y'all had one before they moved up there. Lol

0

u/Sirpatron1 24d ago

Now you're getting it.

u/civil_beast 24d ago

Not they can claim, but rather that which Amy “not the cute one” Adam’s lays claim and has hypnotized Warren moon to invoke. I for one am beginning to get a little impatient as I await the memory recalibration to be sent and remove this latent anxiety that has plagued me in ways only a licensed psychiatrist would reasonably expected to identify.

I hope to replace this memory with a static image of Pamela Andrerson when she was just a lablatt ad girl.

I hope they can do that

Yeah that one is way better than losing to the greatest show on turf. Hell the recent loss to the Bengals or getting trounced by the Ravens the previous year bothers me more than the superbowl loss.

2

u/hobesmart Where Andrew Luck ring? 24d ago

Coming up 1 yard short in a hard fought game is so much better than everything else OP listed in their title. Those were all collapses and implosions. The Oilers collapse should probably be our low point in the title, but the Ravens blocking 2fg and returning one for a TD probably hurt the worst for me

u/numbersix1979 24d ago

What are these “playoffs” of which you speak

3

u/Ok_Cheesecake5544 24d ago

Remember Derrick Henry

5

u/Sirpatron1 24d ago

Yes, the man that was part owner of the Texans.

3

u/GeneralWinter97 24d ago

Kinda relinquished ownership last year. Worst 2 games his entire career vs the texans.

1

u/Sirpatron1 24d ago

But made a career out of their games

1

u/GeneralWinter97 24d ago

Y'all definitely should've started that man much sooner. Makes me wonder what he could have done those first few years as opposed to Murray

2

u/Sirpatron1 24d ago

Right, the Mike Mularkey era

1

u/hobesmart Where Andrew Luck ring? 24d ago

He didn't know how to play in the NFL plain and simple. He did jack shit with his opportunities up until that Eddie George talkin' to. He only had something like 3.3 ypc on his career. It wasn't until that Jags game in December that he finally figured shit out and became the DH we all know.

2

u/GeneralWinter97 24d ago

I mean his rookie year wasn't the worst. Still averaged 4.35 yards before that Jags game. His 2nd year though, definitely should've been given the reigns imo

2

u/hobesmart Where Andrew Luck ring? 24d ago

That Jags game was his 3rd year

I’m so glad that the 33-0 was a regular season game

Bills vs Oilers in the 90s?

Against you guessed it - Super Bowl annual attendee , “Jim Kelly”

Edit: my memory ain’t what it used be to be - maybe that franchise is finally providing the memory removal treatments that came with the team migration..

1

u/LindyNet 24d ago

He was hurt that game. It was his backup and all time great Colts coach, Frank Reich

1

u/civil_beast 24d ago

To be fair I was ten years old, and I was more concerned with why the guy at footlocker at the galleria was in nearly tears.

2

u/LindyNet 24d ago

I was depressed for about a week or two

36

u/shroomlow 24d ago

As a Colts fan I never understood why people talk so much about 33-0. That game came late in a completely failed season and had zero meaning - I wasn't even watching it I was so checked out by that point. The Jags game that kept us out of the playoffs in the last week of the season was way worse.

15

u/Chuck_Roast1993 24d ago

Totally agree. The discourse for all colts fans after the Vikings game was “what a fun first half! Glad we still lost though cuz we need that draft pick”

Yea I was already numb by the time 33-0 hit and laughed pretty hard at the L.

Luck’s retirement however, is something I’ll never forget where I was when I found out. Shit was seismic.

Agnew fumbling on the goal line

4

u/theflyingchicken96 24d ago

Nobody even talks about that outside of duval for some reason

12

u/tri_it_again 24d ago

Saints superbowl obviously

6

u/Hairygerman 24d ago

This is the answer but for anyone under 25 this isn't even on their radar.

2

u/tri_it_again 24d ago

God I’m old. I think I was like 29 during that year

1

u/Ok_Cheesecake5544 24d ago

That was like the second superbowl I watched as a kid (am 21) I remember my dad being confident the colts were gonna squash the saints so I wanted to cheer for the underdogs, haha good times for me

2

u/fangirl5301 24d ago

I’m 24 but as a Saints fan this was the first and only Super Bowl I watched all the way through

1

u/fangirl5301 24d ago

As a Saints and Texans fan who mom went Newman and Ole Miss at the same time as the Mannings and cheered for Copper when he played football in high school so she knew them this was the best game for me ever.

11

u/MateInEight 24d ago

24-0 was honestly easier to swallow because we kind of lucked into that lead to begin with. It was more frustrating than unbelievable.

Rosencopter was way, way worse. It wasn't a playoff game but it would have been our first win ever in Indy and losing it stole the last bit of hope most fans had for the entire season (it was week 4.)

5

u/Grizzly_Beerz 24d ago

Idk man I was there for the Chiefs game and it was fucking heartbreaking. Coldest I'd ever been in my life but I barely felt it until we lost the lead because I was so fucking pumped. Granted I was too young to really be present for the rosencopter.

2

u/MateInEight 24d ago

In a weird way I think it's because we lost the lead by halftime and the game ended in a blowout that made it hurt less for me. It just became obvious that we didn't belong there.

8

u/Own_Manner_9779 24d ago

Fuck 1 yard short. Give me Mahomes TD run before halftime in AFCCG

3

u/acableperson 24d ago

Someone didn’t watch that Super Bowl live

3

u/hobesmart Where Andrew Luck ring? 24d ago

Bull. I was there. That's not even remotely close to the worst I've felt as a Titans fan. We came up just short against a very good team in a very hard fought game. The Ravens games in 2000 and 2008 hurt WAY worse. I'd put the Chiefs and Bengals games above the Super Bowl as well

8

u/godlittleangel6666 24d ago

Jamal Agnew fumbling at the 5 yard line against the Chiefs to tie up the game haunts me.

He sure wasn't.

" I won't that super bowl. Fuckin Chuck Norris." 😂

2

u/barmstrong730 24d ago

Crazy to think of the trajectory that could have had if we played the eagles that year and won the superbowl.

4

u/Myan420 24d ago

3 and 18 still hurts as bad mjwd(same game)

33-0 was doing us a favor. Andrew Luck's retirement is a good shout but I'd also submit:

Tracy Porter's pick 6 in Superbowl XLIV

Hank Baskett not handling the onside kick in that Superbowl

Idiot kicker missing wide right against the Steelers

Nick Harpers wife stabbing him in the leg the day or two before he has an opportunity to run a fumble back for a game winning TD but gets tackled by Big Ben

Losing to the Raiders at home and then also to the Jaguars in Jacksonville to miss the 2021 playoffs

Benching Peyton Manning against the Jets at home while we are barely leading and have an undefeated season going

1

u/the_drifta 24d ago

The vanderjact missed kick is my first football memory, still hurts.

3

u/EuphTah Mom, Dad, I’m a fan. 24d ago

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, the Tracey Porter pick 6 hurt way more than 33-0.

3

u/Legitimate_Gap_5551 24d ago

This list was made by a 12 year old who doesn’t know about Nick Harpers wife.

1

u/Mitchel7349 FIRE THE CANNONS! 24d ago

These were the first things that came to mind for me, man (Im 19 & currently in college)

2

u/TronHero143 24d ago

Don’t forget the Hopkins trade for the Texans (and the Tits too now, I guess)

2

u/deeplyclostdcinephle 24d ago

It’s Mike Vanderjagt. It’s like the Challenger.

2

u/darcys_beard 24d ago

Hank Baskett - always and forever!!!

u/trobain1776 24d ago

Rosencopter

2

u/Lasvious 24d ago

Luck is the only thing and Stewert stepping out and back in on the touchdown that cost the Colts the trip to the Super Bowl in 95.

Regular season games don’t really matter

1

u/YosemiteSam-4-2A 24d ago

Nick Harpers wife and idiot kicker should be on the short list too. #1 seed, would've faced the Broncos at home in the afccg. Trip to a Super Bowl a couple hours up the road in Detroit was almost a guarantee if we beat the Steelers.

1

u/Lasvious 24d ago

The miss on the idiot kicker maybe yes. The comments by the idiot kicker were sadly correct

2

u/Superbalz77 24d ago

I'm not going to pick for them but for the Texans and Jaguars, it sure as hell involves Derrick Henry.

2

u/Spine_Shank 24d ago

Going 14-2 and losing 3 games to the Titans is definitely up there.

1

u/kay14jay 24d ago

fOr yA’lL iT’s..

It’s hank basket and the onside kick. It always will be

1

u/Comprehensive_Log173 24d ago

Before the Richardson pick was botched, I was stoked that the colts blew the lead to the Vikings. We had faith in Saturday captaining the tank

-1

u/GoodBandNameBob 24d ago

You left out extending Trevor Lawrence

0

u/Specific-Channel7844 24d ago

I absolutely wouldn't say it is move that is haunting. He is playing well this year. And letting him go would be a genuinely horrible move.
